I've been to NU once. Very small place. Felt like i was being cooked in a microwave. Maybe their ac wasnt working that night...

Posted by TaurusNYY on Sep-09-2011 13:28:

I have yet to go to NU myself but I never heard anything that great about it- def sounds like a sweatbox. Hmmm, whatsup with that Planetary Assault thing- still trying to find mixes from that as well.

I'm much more excited about Kollektiv than Planetary Assault...however, they're more minimal than techno. I'm not much of a minimal fan but some djs i reallly do dig and they have to be that good for me to be into it. If I were to describe their music in one word, it would be: beauitful! perfect set-up for...

...planetary assault, which the name pretty much speaks for itself-a techno assault!

this line-up is just..superb!!

Posted by Chaska on Sep-09-2011 19:26:

I def agree with you on the lineup being superb. However, I'll be @ Claude Young, the guy lives in Tokyo and hasn't been in NY in 10 years. I have a feeling the names on Blk|Market either will be coming back at some point soon or I can catch them in Europe once I go there next year... A trip to Tokyo is not something I'm planning in the near future Maybe I should though, them Japanese folk sure know their techno!

My obligatory stop at Sully, swing by LPR for Jody for some of Boo's drink tickets (lol) and finish off the night at Stay

I'll be at District 36 tonight with few others...

Hey any of you guys into Westbam at all? Grabbed a recent set of his and it's pretty sick. It's like electro dark techno. Mixing electro elements in an awesome away as apposed to the super fucking cheese the dutch house and trance crowds are force fed.

Yes, also Maceo Plex that night @ Good Units. Marc Romboy on Friday. And saw Edit-Select announced for Oct 8th and the Hidden Recordings party on Sept 30.

Looking pretty good. Should probably just make event threads. /toolazy

How is Maceo Plex- Ill do my own digging but like you im lazy as well at the moment.

Resident Advisor podcast ep 254 is the only set I have of his. His production style is more house, which I usually loathe, but he has a techno feel to his tracks as well. I call it, boat party techno, cause I wanna be on a boat.

Posted by TaurusNYY on Sep-14-2011 14:16:

boat party techno sounds fun actually- Ill check him out- I love good units since its closer to my hideaway spot uptown- damn I just hope Monoloc is in Manhattan that would be the deciding factor.

I call it "tech house to get down to". Super sexy music. His set this summer at Rooftop XVI got me all hot and bothered! Best party of the summer, hands down.

I'm having a bit of a problem deciding what to do on Saturday night... Chances are I'll end up going to Monoloc, Good Units is just too far from me, easier to go to Brooklyn from the LES than to UWS.

Posted by TaurusNYY on Sep-14-2011 21:10:

I heard a maceo set and it was cool but more of a rooftop summer vibe then a Saturday night vibe IMO at least, looks like monoloc is in the lead just hope it's in Manhattan. We shall see.

Posted by DPetey81 on Sep-14-2011 22:45:

So so soooo wanted to come out for Maceo Plex but something came up. Grrrrrrrr... That sh*t's gonna be crazy. I know what Taurus is talking about because I've got several of his sets that have more of a "chill" vibe, but I've also seen clips of him at clubs and heard very good things from friends about how he destroys dancefloors. I think he plays a little harder with some big drops when he plays nightclubs. It's gonna be a great party.

EDIT: ...... and Tolfrey's playin' too!!

Thanks bro!! And yes, def see you all on Sat @ Monoloc

Posted by TaurusNYY on Sep-15-2011 18:46:

damn you Brooklyn and your Public Assembly...grrrr...There can not be a spot any farther away from me. Really was not trying to drive that night- ohhh well, on the fence.

Posted by lounger540 on Sep-15-2011 18:58:

Yeah, Astoria to BK is not an easy trip for nightlife. Not sure about this.

BTW, if you didn't hear since it's buried in their email and the flyer unchanged, Luke Slater aka Planetary Assault had to cancel for the blkmarket party. Rest of the lineup is unchanged.

Monoloc / Romboy / Barem. Decisions, decisions.
