i'll use this extreme example to see if i can make my point, i love desyn but if he went to sensation black and played house and bored everyone id call him a twat, coz as much as he loves it, if he cant get a crowd going no one would give a shit

it's all about track selection

yeh i know, that was just MY OPINION haha
oh totally agree when you say majority of people dont give a fark....they most likely dont even care about the music anyways like some of us do.

fuck oath its all about track selection, to ME especially thats the most important thing, but then again you dont want to go out & hear a dj that cant even mix for shit & who looks like he's gunna piss his pants & cry, but hey thats just my opinion. lol

Dave, dont get so defensive, that comment was a general one!

then again how far can a dj really move. besides strangis i wonder if anyone will really make it

You may have just broken some hearts there Davey boy, but really you never know what can happen!

just sounds to me like some are sounding like 'know it all experts'.

djballistic THE WORLD IS MINE! hahaha just kiddin maricon bubblehead.
haha

im not defensive missy lol, its the truth.. contrary to popular santic belief i dont hold inside me bedroom dj angst =) the truth of the matter is that most djs in australia dont get anywhere

Posted by Light The Fuse on Nov-21-2006 01:31:

dave, the majority of djs all around the world dont get anywhere

Posted by Aesthetic on Nov-21-2006 01:43:

what if only one person in a country wanted to get somewhere

like from ethiopia

then technically, every dj from ethiopia has gotten somewhere

im just being random coz work sucks

Posted by Light The Fuse on Nov-21-2006 01:44:

hahah - majority of singers dont make it either. or majority of drummers. or majority of actors or majority of directors...blah blah lol

Posted by Light The Fuse on Nov-21-2006 01:45:

i got somewhere - i got to work this morning - it was hard but i did it. id like to thank mum, god and connex. (well no fuck connex my train was late)

Posted by Dean Millson on Nov-21-2006 01:58:

You're not going to "make it" anywhere unless you produce good tracks also imo.

Posted by pkcRAISTLIN on Nov-21-2006 02:01:

i think its a pretty weird assumption that everyone wants to "make it". i loved playing soccer for most of my teen years and i had no intention of pulling on a liverpool jersey. sure, DJing for a living would be way better than what im doing currently, but fucked if i could be bothered with all the hard work that would take.

the odd gig every now and then is good enough for me

on the whole i agree - there are always anomalies - eg grant smilie had kinda made it before tv rock, kid kenobi, james zabiela, j00f, desyn masiello, eddie halliwell - heck even nick fish 'made it' to a degree with fark all under their beltz - but yeah on the whole u gotta be churning out quality tunes i guess.

whats making it anyway lol? just do what ya like and if people like it then kool, if not, meh at least its fun.

cause its fun.

making it is capitalising your initials in internet forum posts isnt it?

Depends which way you look at it.

There are only some Aussie djs that have 'made' it to become well known & have played around the world!

'dont get anywhere'

Id rather be djaying, having a residency at a club, making the crowd go nuts & being invited to dj support internationals, then say a dj who cant even try and score himself a gig.

I know its not all that easy but if you're good at what you do and have the talent for it, IF THERES A WILL THERES A WAY, YOU CAN MAKE IT, this is only if you're serious about djaying & WANT to play to a crowd (not 2 people) and also make some extra cash!

If we are talking globally, then yes I think producing is the way to go & networking yourself overseas.

lol i agree, i have some friends who just have decks to play at private functions or just for themselves for fun, whatever tickles your fancy....

its just funny how SOME on here 'sound' like 'experts' on all the djaying matters at hand when really its like AND WHO ARE YOU?
and then they say that others are sounding STUCK UP?
