I'm thinking of going to ADID as well

Posted by lounger540 on Sep-13-2012 14:31:

I think I'm doing ADID. Leke I'm iffy on. I'm not into Monoloc, CLR or not he's a bore.

The Sonar thing is random. I mean

Troxler, Paul Kalkbrenner and Nic Fanciulli. Awesome. Especially since I missed Troxler this weekend. Fanciulli is here a lot, but Saved is such a consitant label he always has fresh tracks to throw down.

But then Tiga and some rapper? What odd additions. They attract a way different crowd, which this party doesn't need.

lounger hit it on the nail

feels more like a sonar off party

so we have now

CLR Residency
Sonar Tour
Cocoon Residency
Blkmarket doing their own thing (S&D)
Paco for Halloween

I highly suggest All Day I Dream, that's all I'm going to say about that

This is what Sonar does. It works well in Spain, I've been there. Plus, Die Antwoord is not "some rapper"

Posted by edubbz on Sep-13-2012 16:03:

FYI, this isn't the first NY Sonar.

And neonbeats beat me to it, if you really know what sonar is about, it's about diversity in music- a LOT of live acts that'll blow you away (can't speak for about the last one in '10(?) since I didn't attend) but very similar with the ones around the world..which you may think is a weird mixture but holy shit you'll be in for a surprise.

Ay, I suggest you contemplate no longer and attend adid. NYC is getting hit with a major music-wave of HQ. I'm debating not to attend paco and do the freak show with blkm. Altho a paco halloween party has been well overdue..his last one at Love was insane.

You're right, it sounds worse.

LOL This is kind of out of place compared to the rest of the line up. Don't know if i want to digweed or this.

One of my coworkers explained the story to me about Die antwoord.
They were some art project that did music vids for shit and giggles. Theyre not even a band or anything, but somebody picked up on them and voila, theyre popular now...

Sounds like the Eastern Bloc version of ICP, but less makeup.

Posted by edubbz on Sep-13-2012 20:09:

Sonar has a lot to do with experimental stuff. Guess you can call it an intricate festival...which everyone should DEF experience once in their lifetime (I suggest in BCN though *dreaming of the off-parties * ).

Cari is one of my favorite producers. I'm def there and very much looking forward to it.

I have liked Monoloc's mixes on CLR podcast and his last CLR CD and looking forward to checking him out as well.

No doubt X...actually forgot I saw Monoloc with Sanhaji last time he was here and he did his thing.

Cari looks like trouble , In there...

FYI, Actress is playing @ Cameo Gallery on Thursday.

I'd suggest blkm Sept 30 (daytime party), with Huckaby & Ripperton for this thread..jozif plays more on the housey side but that shall be a nice warm up for what the proceeding fellows should bring. Plus, its outdoors so nice way to cap the summer off with things.

He's coming to Boston Nov. 9 I'd be surprised if he doesn't make a pass through NY
