One thing about subtitles though, I think it should be declared at the onset that a movie is subbed, either at the theater or on the cover of the DVD box. I'm cool with subs as long as I know what I'm in for. Case in point, Pan's Labyrinth. If I had known beforehand I probably would've been more receptive to it. |
This subtitle thing is ridiculous. I'm sorry you feel that way, man.
As for dubbing, I think it is the most atrocious thing ever to be invented.

Originally posted by gehzumteufel I actually watched those movies (excluding Blood Diamond) as a result of that thread I made. Fantastic movies. Really enjoyed them a lot. |

Originally posted by gehzumteufel Yep. The need to read a movie takes away from both the nuances of the film, the shooting style, etc. You can't pay attention to the words and fully understand what is going on in the scene. |

Originally posted by PoisonJam19 I have no problem in this area. Maybe you're just a slow reader, gehz |

Originally posted by wotyzoid I just don't see it. I can easily read subtitles while paying very close attention to the movie itself. |

The Doors
Donnie Darko
Taxi Driver
Lords of Dogtown
Has anybody seen The Wackness? I saw it the other day not expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised. Josh Peck definitely has some acting chops [who knew?], and Ben Kingsley, well, is always great.

Standard operating procedure for you seems to be to insult someone else's opinion or taste and then flap your wings and make a fit when there's pushback. Sorry your feathers got ruffled. Ah, there we have it. It's actually fairly famous, and it came up when renzo asked what I've seen lately and I mentioned that I currently have that from Netflix but haven't seen it yet. If you want to read something into a comment like that, be my guest. We all know your powers of inductive reasoning border on paranoia. |

Originally posted by wotyzoid Yeah, that's racist. I apologize 17sss, I never meant to offend you. But you did post a video of the movie and said "WTF" so I just assumed you didn't understand it. Is that so wrong? |
