Who?

Ive never heard him live but from the sets I have heard from him I like about 80% of them, I heard mixed reviews when he was last in NY. If he came back I would check him out, just to scratch it off the list. Looking forward to Dave Clarke when he makes it out here.

If you would kindly elaborate, sir, I'd be delighted. All I can say is, can't wait for the spring nyc edition.

I think what it is, is that last year I went to a lot of parties I maybe wouldn't have gone to because I had free tickets to the Shelborne and Shine. A lot of stuff blew me away and changed a lot of the DJs I listened to from then on. Now, while I have heard Lee's recorded All Day I Dream set, so I knew i wanted to check it out, I had never been. It was just really refreshing. My friend and I were only moderately drinking, exhausted from the week, but we danced more and with more energy than probably any other party we went to all WMC. If you saw us you'd probably think we were rolling balls or something. Hands in the air, bodies swaying, like I used to feel dancing to Trance back in the early 00's. I left there with a natural buzz and really impressed, and then we had an amazing Italian dinner just around the corner. It made Schulz at Space, the only trance DJ I even consider seeing anymore, kind of boring and annoying in comparison. I ended up going up to the terrace to with Steve Angello, which says a lot if you know me, because I bash SHM all the time.

We were really banged up going into this party and kind of exhausted (pretty much the theme for the week, overbooked my parties) so I don't remember track/set specifics really. I'd say this was in the top few parties of the week. I remember Digweed being really good. I didn't like him at D36 but that might have been the crowd/club/fighting with GF. We only caught the last 45 minutes or so of Hernan and were still kind of getting situated but I was enjoying him as well. The crowd was cool, non-hired girls were dancing up on the cat way around us, like I mentioned before the people around us were really nice too, giving us free booze. Definitely one of the more respectful crowds, I wasn't getting shoved into even when we were near the booth area.

I'm changing it up this weekend with some Way Out West on Saturday, been looking forward to it

I'm also planning to go to the Essential party, it's looking very interesting. Erotic art exhibit/party upstairs until the morning

Should have gone when I had first brought it up. Lee really turns that event into something truly magical, something I've never before experienced in my edm yrs.

Very nicely reviewed, glad you enjoyed it.

We've got Wolf+Lamb & Soul Clap Saturday, and Matt Tolfrey, Matthew Dear & Laura Jones Sun.

If you like it harder, save the date for Paul Ritch & Gregor Tresher on 4.20.

LIKE

Maybe his hearing is going or he had an equipment issue, because yes there were a few train wrecked mixes in the first half, but the programming is on point.

Edit: I revise my previous statement, I commented too soon only being ⅔ through. I don't like this set, I fucking love it.

Posted by trojans14 on Mar-29-2012 03:50:

Heard the first thirty min of it then left. Not cause it wasn't good, we were beat. He still managed to make me dance even on my way out of Ultra, even though I was out of energy. Will definitely check out the rest of the set.

Save the date my techno people, Sasha Carassi coming to NYC on 5/11/2012 ;-) It's labeled as a Brooklyn Warehouse Party on his website..

I don't think Soul Clap is what he's quite looking for this weekend ;-)

PS. Come out to LPR for Way Out West dude. Yeah It's not techno this weekend but there will be a huge TA presence which pretty much means good times...

thanks. That Paul Ritch party will be classic.

I'm still debating this wknd, have a house head who was thinking of going out to see Derrick Carter on Friday so thats a possibility if that doesnt work out the WOW would be an option- but damn that 35.00 price atm is not that appealing.

You are right, TA Heads= Good times.

Posted by Chaska on Mar-29-2012 14:53:

W+L and Slow Crap is def not what Taurus is looking for.

And you def should come out for WOW!

Some new Carassi

Nice, thanks!

BTW, that Sven set has gotten my mum jammin all over the house, she loves it, lol. Pretty badass set, why doesn't he plays like this all the time??

Posted by edubbz on Mar-29-2012 16:25:

wanna hear a cliche? the harder, the better! a lot of good parties are being missed bc you're stuck on that mentality- branch out! you may think a party isn't for you but you will be surprised by what a dj can do and how he'll put you in the right mood.
the setting of an event is huge and plays a big role with the music that inhibits it..hit up one of those daytime/rooftop parties (Matt Tolfrey & Matthew Dear looks promising). perhaps, that dj won't do it for you but everyone has their own unique style so don't be quick to judge the music based on one/two performances- even a dj you're very well into doesn't bang it out all the time (very very few that are consistent).

i never knew i would have liked techno, look at me now (technohead). never thought i would have gotten into house, look at me now (she's been my mistress)..never imagined saying i like disco but boy did i eat my words (been getting into old disco of as lately and some new disco here n there). and its awesome, meet a variety of ppl and new friends instead of seeing the same ppl at every party.

just my .2
