like i said earlier... this could be the biggest dj career move or career blunder.

Of fuck it! If that's what she wants, than she's doing a great job at it.

No one should ask her to play anything other than what she plays!

Blame Armin for booking a non-trance DJ to play a trance show... It's not her fault.

Why not book Kristina Sky to play this show since she is also in Den Bosch AND has a good following and has made a name for herself as a trance DJ??

Fei-Fei is one of Insomniac's residents. Every DJ on the ASOT stage at Beyond has a relationship with Insomniac, the lineup was clearly more Insomniac's doing than Armin's. But I assume Armin approved of Fei-Fei because he's played her trance tracks on his show. "Hellion" wasn't even that long ago, actually.

Her label has been releasing both trance and dubstep recently, so I was expecting her set to be a combination of both, but it was almost entirely dubstep.

I didn't really care, and I'm certainly not going to get angry at her for not playing trance, I just thought it was an extremely confusing career move considering how massive the worldwide radio audience was and how much everybody knows the "#trancefamily" crowd despises dubstep.

Just listened to Fei Fei's set. Not my cup of tea but I don't listen to much dubstep. I thought the last song she played @123:37 was more what the audience was expecting. I can see how it would be hard for her to play trance tracks if that's not what she is into anymore. Maybe she shouldn't have played the event since she knew it was a "trance" event but I could see how she would see it as a way to introduce a huge audience to her new sound. I think it would have gone over better though if she played more trance stuff and dropped a couple of her newer dubstep stuff in here and there instead of the whole set. Kind of like when Gabriel and Dresden sometimes play Benny Benassi feat Gary Go - Cinema - Gabriel & Dresden's Laidback Luke/Skrillex Mashup in their sets.

@DJ Woody - I listened to the sets from http://www.urtrancezone.com/asot/ar...550-t45650.html

Fei Fei's set - @41:36 - State of Dubstep comment, but Armin still compliments her for being the opener.
@50:58 - Rec Room interview with Ruben and Fei Fei

Shogun's set - @14:30 After interview with Armin and Fei Fei. She drops the F-bomb but you can hear her tone is more playful than anything IMO. I'm surprised so many people freaked out about this.

I used to have a Panasonic ZR3. I tried out a Panasonic ZS15 for Beyond. I think the ZR3 was easier for me to use (less settings) but it's has a CCD sensor so you get all of those vertical lines when the sensor is overpowered with bright lights so that's why I wanted to try the ZS15.

Great event imo, very good music was heard for most of the night. Started the night off around 7:45ish (me and my gf left late and bummed that we missed jamie & seth, atleast we saw jamie spin for 3 hours on friday)

Chris Liebing 8:00-9:30

Absolutely destroyed the dancefloor with MASSIVE MASSIVE HEAVY BASSLINES!!!!!!!! Great stage presence as well.

Adam Beyer 9:30-11:00
Good tunes played throughout his whole set reminded me a little of richies style.

Dubfire 11:00-11:40
Good set from what I heard, alot more uptitty and heavy then I'm used to hearing from Dubfire so I was quite happy.

Andy C 11:40-1:00
EHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH his new live visual show is really cool.... however his track selection was blehhh imo... seen him spin much much better, his mixing was flawless as it always is but he's kind of going the route subfocus did when subfocus turned "live" the dnb was fantastic, everything else was fucking crap FUCK HEARING shitty house inbetween tracks...

John Digweed 1:00-2:00
FUCKING MINDBLOWINGLY AMAZING AS ALWAYS!!!!!!!!!!! The worst part of his set was that it ended @ 2AM he needed to play for another 4 hours :'( it was such a tease to only hear him for that long >.<

In regard to Fei-Fei why would you play dubstep... on a trance stage lol... That'd be like a dnb or dubstep opener playing trance on the Dnb/dubstep stage... or someone playing shitty electro house and dutch house on the techno stage..

A STATE OF TRANCE = Trance =/= Dubstep
