...and it did get much better. Turned out that I was in the Chessire Woods stage, right where I wanted to be. Odd that the security guy didn't know the name of the stage he was stationed at though...lol
The music that I heard from Beyer and Dubfire was awesome! Came back to the main stage for the last part of Gareth's set and my jaw dropped when I saw how many people were there! Gareth played a lot of his signature tracks, as expected, and then on came Armin. I think it was Armin, anyway, couldn't really see the stage for a good half hour, and with VIP closing off the left side and the first few tent openings closed off on the right side, it was sardine packed! Virtually impossible to move in any direction, but I did eventually make it up near the front by 1:30am. Very friendly crowd though, they all just wanted to see Armin!
My opinion from this night is that Trance has been discovered, maybe the crowd has moved on from the Guetta, Avicii sound and is beginning to appreciate quality music?
Of course, it's just one event, but I never dreamed that the Trance stage would have such a huge draw! The ASOT 550 tshirts were sold out in my size early in the night too. I really enjoyed Armin's set, just the right mix of new tracks along with the tried and true.
Wanted to hear Digweed as well, but I wasn't about to leave that tent back into the freezing rain...until the end, where everyone stood in line for at least 20 minutes to get OUT of the venue. Logistical nightmare getting in and out, but a good night overall, and can't really blame Insomniac about the weather. The damn parking signage, however...
