beyond only massiv that brings the techno

Posted this in another thread, but it's relevant here...

They are having a segment on the news (ABC7 in SF) with Stubhub talking about how they know for a fact that ticket providers (eg. ticketmaster?), promoters, and venues themselves hold back tickets to sell on sites like Stubhub at highly inflated prices...and don't genuinely release all the tickets to the public at regular price.

Don't you find it odd how tickets just appear on Stubhub the second they go on sale to the regular public? They even found cases where the tickets were on sale on Stubhub the day before they became available to the public.

Ticketmaster's statement says scalpers use illegal means to buy tickets in bulk to sell at highly inflated prices...sure that's a part of it, but certainly not all.

Beyer has been confirmed via his agency's website for a while now for Beyond.

and Dave, while i'm not discounting collusion between event promoters and say stubhub, as long as Stubhub has created a listing for an event, anyone can list a ticket for sale for that event, even if you haven't actually bought it yet.

edit - i misinterpreted what that TV report was about... i thought it was inferring Stubhub was complicit in the scalping but re-reading it that was not the case...

Never thought about it before but I def do find it plausible per the report that a promoter keeps back say 100 tickets for a hot show from sale time and then sells the tickets later at 2-3x the face price on stubhub.

I'm a little irked that Markus, Ferry, and A&B are all missing from the LA lineup. Armin is the only "heavy-hitter". That said, I'll be seeing Markus and Ferry at Avalon this month, and Insomniac says they're doing another special A&B event, so no biggie.

I hope Adam Beyer is on during Arty or Gareth's sets. I'll be pretty bummed if they schedule him the same time as Armin. :/

Markus - has his own record release tour to do, on his own label

If for no other reason, these guys having their own labels says it all.
This is an ASOT night, let Ferry come back with his own stage like in past yeas, and maybe A&B can finally get booked from a proper Anjuna stage some day...

Ferry played ASOT500 miami last year, Markus played 3 of the ASOT500 events, and A&B played in Den Bosch ASOT500. So they could definitely be on this lineup.

However, Arty, Armin, and Gareth are heavy hitters enough for me - stoked to see those guys! Not super stoked about the rest, but I'm sure the other stages will have plenty of fun. Hopefully armin does a 3 hour set, with another 3 hours from Gareth and Arty combined... that should satisfy my needs.

I was only just getting into techno when I went to Beyond Wonderland last year. All I knew from the techno lineup was Ritchie Hawtin. I would love to see the other guys that played that stage now.
